Recent studies conducted by researchers has created an uproar in the running community where it cited that running for longer distances repeatedly could be detrimental for your heart and bad for your health in general.
While there is no conclusive evidence on this findings, the medical practitioners does advise caution while running for longer distances on a regular basis.
However, when we spoke to the runners community members, we found little concern showed by them regarding this research and the adverse effect that long distance running could cause on these runners' health and particularly their heart.
What keeps these runners passionate about their long distance running and ignore these new research studies?
One of the main thing that we had noticed when we spoke to these runners is that they seemed to be highly passionate about running and cared less about any adverse impact it may cause to them in the long run. One of the reason for this was cited as the freedom that this form of long distance running brought to these runners. The runners enjoy being in different places at different times, being in total control of their life and the freedom it brings in to them. Hence, these runners do not want to compromise this for anything else.
