Kategori : DISPLAY DVI FAQ HDMI Q&A RASPBERRY PI Solved TECHNOLOGY VGA
I just got a question from one of my user asking if it is possible to have your Raspberry Pi connected to a VGA monitor/screen using a combination of HDMI to DVI cable on the Raspberry Pi and a DVI To VGA Adapter to connect to the VGA monitor on the other hand.
The answer to this combination of connecting your Raspberry Pi to a VGA monitor is NO. You will need a standard HDMI to VGA cable to connect your Raspberry Pi to your VGA monitor and trying to connect using multiple intermediate connectors like HDMI to DVI and then DVI to VGA adapter will not fetch you the results you are looking for.
These type of combinational adapters would result in signals losing power and many a times even wrong connections than what you would get when you use a standard converting adapter or cable.
If you have been thinking of doing the same thing, we strongly suggest you to rather go ahead and invest some amount of money in purchasing a standard converter cable to keep your Raspberry Pi safe.
Hope this helps!
