Kategori : 2016 Browser FIXTURE google Google Chrome Omnibox Search Engine Solved TECHNOLOGY
If you have ever worked with Google Chrome browser's Omnibox search you would have noticed that the omnibar search would pick up a search engine keyword when you type that word on the Chrome browser's Ominbox search bar and hit either a "TAB" key or a "Space" key.
While this feature of Google Chrome's Omnibox may come in handly for some people, but I do know a lot of people getting irritated by this and wonder if this can be disabled.
If you too are one such user who has gotten irritated by the Google Chrome browser's Omnibox auto keyword pickup for both "TAB" key and a "Space" key and would like to have it enabled only for one of the key, then I have found a solution for you guys to resolve this issue.
Let us take a example that I have set php.net website as my search engine whenever I type in php as my keyword on the Google Chrome Omnibox. Now php.net search engine would get triggered every time I type in php.net and then hit either a "TAB" key or a "Space" key.
To avoid this, all you have to do is to go to your Google Chrome browser's Settings option and select "Manage Search Engines". In here, you can find the php.net search engine listed. Once you locate this entry on your Google Chrome browser settings, you just need to change the keyword name from "php" to something like "sphp" or something different along these lines.
What happens then is that everytime you type in php on your Google Chrome's omnibar, your php keyword will remain untouched by the omnibox and would not trigger php.net search engine, thereby allowing you to continue typing anything else to go along with php keyword. However, whenever you type in "sphp", it will automatically bring in the php.net search engine where in you can continue searching any php related queries on the php.net website directly from the Google Chrome browser's omnibar.
Hope this is helpful to those who had been looking for a fix to this issue!
