The book value of a share is the value of a share as per the book records of the company. This value is derived at by taking into account the Net Asset Value of the company and subtracted by the liability of the company to the total number of shares.

i.e.

Book Value Of A Share = (Net Asset Value - Liability)/(Total No. Of Shares)

On the other hand, the Market Value Of A Share is the actual trading value of that share in the stock market.
