With the recent announcement made by Google's DeepMind AI of winning its first ever Go game against the well known legendary Go game player from South Korea Mr.Lee Se-dol on its first ever Go Game international match! The stake for a victory in this series of Go game has been set to as high as $1 million by Google to prove that its DeepMind Artificial Intelligence Neural Network has indeed evolved into an unbeatable intelligence network.
But what are the rules of the Go Game and how to play a Go Game is a question not many people are able to answer yet, mainly because the Go Game had not yet been made popular in the United States of America or other parts of the world.
Go Game originated from ancient China at about 2,500 years ago and has been known as one of the most toughest game to ever be able for a machine to crack and win, unlike Chess were there are only a finite number of steps required for the machine to learn and beat its opponents.
Here are some of the very basic rules of a Go Game:
- The two sides of the Go game are identified as Black and White, with Black Go Game team playing with 181 Black stones while that of the White Go Game team playing with 180 stones.

- The ultimate goal of a player is to occupy as many intersections as possible while forming a boundary across the board (think each intersection as a kind of fencing pillar).
- At the end of the Go game, the ultimate winner will be the player who has managed to occupy as larger area of the board as possible.
- Because of this nature of the Go Game, the game can also be played on smaller boards of dimensions such as 9x9 Go board or 5x5 Go board.
- In fact, for a beginner of the Go game, it is advisable for the player to start learning using a 9x9 Go board until he understands the rule and applicable strategies for the game.
